Last year, over 2,000 people volunteered to search for a missing 8-year-old boy named Robert Manwill. Unfortunately, the story did not end well as he had been murdered and his body disposed of by people he should have been able to trust. Let's not let this little boy's tragic death stand for nothing! We want to remember the caring recognition from the community that his life stood for. To join us for a short walk ending in a children's celebration, click on the link below. We want to keep the walk short so children can also join. We also plan on the day's event to be a positive reminder of how, if we all pay attention to the children in our community and their family members, we could save lives. Our goal is to have over 2,000 people join us this first year. Click here to add your name to the mailing list for the run/walk
The family crisis resource center will provide emergency care for children when
there is a possibility they may be abused or neglected due to family crisis
situations. We envision a nursery where children will receive clothing,
nutritious meals, and unconditional love and attention from staff and
volunteers. The crisis center will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a
week and will provide services confidentially and free of charge. The
emergency respite will provide a temporary safe haven for the child while the
parent or guardian seeks assistance with an emergent problem, such as substance
abuse, domestic violence, or a housing, personal health, or job crisis.
Services will include provision of or referral to family support services,
parent education, crisis intervention, and short-term case management to bridge
the gap between crisis and successful living. |
