How?
By sitting down and really talking. Circle of Parents groups meet weekly, are
free of charge, and foster an open exchange of ideas, support, information and
resources. These kinds of groups serve those parenting children of all ages and
families of all types. There are groups across the country, and they operate
under different names and organizations. But they are all there to help parents
find support. Most groups have a free program for children as well. The
groups utilize the mutual self-help support model.
The
Circle of Parents® is a national network of mutual support and self-help
programs in partnership with communities. Currently
the collaboration includes 26
networks in 25 states.
The grant supporting this project calls on the collaboration to further expand
the national network and to add new groups and strengthen existing programs. Idaho's Heart has received a grant from the Idaho Children's Trust Fund for a facilitator training to be held this April. The RFP for the Circle of Parents training is in PDF format. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader which is a free program you can download. Click here to download the most recent version:
Review the RFP by clicking here. We are currently seeking funding that will allow us to provide additional facilitator training to agencies and organizations interested in providing this program. Please contact Sunny Reed at (208) 424-0943 or idahosheart@ideasforyou.com if you would like to be informed of our progress |
