Idaho’s Heart serves as the administrative member for the Idaho Child Abuse Prevention Coalition.

Parents and organizations in Idaho need education, resources, and support to be effective in improving children's lives, regardless of their location. Yet many parents and organizations are not aware of, or do not have access to, the expert advice needed for full information about effective and positive programs.

The Idaho Child Abuse Prevention Coalition connects Idaho through professionals, families and the community to bring awareness to the abuse and neglect of Idaho's children and to increase the visibility and strength of services available that prevent child maltreatment. The Coalition also participates in directing child abuse and neglect prevention activities statewide.

Annually, the Coalition develops and implements an annual primary prevention campaign which includes:  

Scheduled activities for the nationally recognized Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month – April.  
A variety of activities take place year round that assist in individual and organizational growth and recognition.
Public awareness messages broadcast via billboards, transit advertising, media (TV and Radio) and other avenues.  
Additional events as suggested and approved by Coalition members.

Membership is free of charge and open to any individual or organization that is interested in promoting the prevention of child abuse and neglect.

Individuals and organizations interested in supporting the efforts of the Coalition but who are unable to meet the requirements of membership may participate in activities as an Honorary Member or as a Supporter. Supporters may be asked to lend their expertise and other support as needed.
