The mission of Idaho's Heart is to provide support and expand services throughout the state to ensure our children are safe from abuse in all its forms. We are a new organization seeking novel, innovative methods to combat our state's most alarming public health issue while supporting existing best practices. It is the only private, statewide, community-based nonprofit organization with the sole mission of preventing child abuse and neglect. We envision a state where the safety and well being of all our children is the number one priority for all citizens. Our strategy is designed to mobilize the entire community: human services, child care, medical, child protective services, law enforcement, legislative, parent/caretaker, media, and the business sector to come together in partnership to protect our children. The Warm Springs Counseling Center provides the highest quality mental health services, education, and training to the children and families of our community. Since the 1970's, we have been working to address the need for quality mental health care in our community. We are, in fact, the only agency in our area that specializes in the treatment of children and families who does not place a cap on the number of low-income clients served. Through a unique subsidy program (Community Sponsorship Program) our clients are able to access our services with payment requirements based on the family's ability to pay. Children today are facing challenges that were virtually non-existent twenty years ago. With violence at home and at school and the new threat of terrorism on the rise, it is more crucial than ever that children receive the help they need from mental health professionals in order to cope with the stresses they face.
